We’ve done a number of articles in recent months that look at how to decide how many garden chairs you need or how to clean and maintain. However, one advantage with the Lazy Susan Garden Chairs collection that we haven’t gone into any great detail, is the fact they’re easy to build garden chairs.
Our easy to build Garden Chairs are supplied flat-packed and are easily self-assembled in around 10 minutes or so. Flatpack is often perceived as lower in quality but this is simply not true. I suppose Ready-To-Assemble (RTA) is a more accurate term/description for what we supply.
Also, a solid cast aluminium chair would simply not work. The simple nut and bolt construction is what gives our furniture both its stability and the flexibility needed when in use. Metal (unlike maybe some wooden RTA pieces) do not lack any of the quality of Ready Assembled.
We supply self-assembly for the following main reasons:
1. It allows us to deliver the furniture direct to your front door easily and safely.
2. It gives you the option to disassemble and reassemble. For example, you can remove the table legs from the top to store and take up significantly less space in your shed or garage
3. It allows us to create more intricate beautiful designs but with the durability needed for outdoor use.

Advantages of Lazy Susan easy to build garden chairs
The MO for our product design team when we created our garden chair collection was to create a range that was comfortable, sturdy and designed to stand up to the elements.
We wanted to pair style with substance. Create chairs that will enhance the outdoor dining experience and sit on our patios for the next 10 years without going out of style.
At Lazy Susan, all our garden chairs are made using traditional casting techniques from rust/rot-proof high-grade aluminium so value and longevity is guaranteed.
Again, if you’d like to see some photos from our factory, then please take a look at our how we make our furniture page.
We ensure they deliver maximum comfort so you can just, well, enjoy them. That comfort can be further enhanced with our coordinating Cushions too.
Our collection features easy to build garden chairs, picnic chairs, and dining chairs in multiple finishes and styles, including sandstone, antique bronze, slate grey and white.
Our Garden Chairs are the perfect partners for our range of Garden Benches, Bistro Tables and Outdoor Dining Tables.
Furthermore, you’ll find that the classical stylings of the Lazy Susan collection are just at home in a traditional English cottage garden as they are in a minimalist urban outdoor living space.

Lazy Susan Garden Chair assembly tips
Before you start building, here are a few pointers/tips from the Lazy Susan team to ensure no hiccups:
- Put something down to protect the cast aluminium parts - A large piece of cardboard or picnic type blanket are perfect.
- Always make sure any bolts etc go in straight/are lined up straight.
- Keep all fixings loose at first to make it easier to connect the chair back.
- Finger tighten all bolts/screws before finishing with the supplied tools (spanner/screwdriver) - This will ensure everything is straight before you tighten.
- Apply a little WD-40 into a screw hole to reduce friction if need be.
- Never over-tighten/torque.
- Do not use power tools.
- Fix the supplied bolt/screw caps to help protect from the elements.
- Use a tray or plastic tub to keep all loose parts such as the bolts together and safe from rolling away.
- If any screw/bolt holes or nuts feel a little tight, give them a squirt of WD-40.
- Make sure you use and position all washers, etc correctly.
